Express Entry to Canada

Express Entry

Once the Invitation to Apply (ITA) is issued, an Express Entry applicant has up to 90 days to file a Canadian visa application. A visa decision is normally made within six months from the date the complete visa application was submitted. If approved for Express Entry to Canada, an applicant and his/her eligible family members will be granted Canadian permanent residency and be authorized to live and work in Canada long-term. The points-based “Express Entry” system was established in 2015 as a more efficient way to process Canadian permanent residency applications for skilled foreign workers who want to live and work in Canada.  An applicant must file an online Express Entry profile with his/her relevant details which will be reviewed by Canadian immigration officials to determine if he/she meets the criteria for one of the “economic immigration” programs that qualifies for Express Entry to Canada.
